CCR#4

We integrated technologies into our project by the whole process of putting it together. My group and I originally used publisher to put the magazine together, but we didn't like exactly how the magazine came out. It looked a little to bland and not very creative, we wanted it to look more as if it was a real magazine. That's why we decided to used the program Canva. Canva allowed us to have more creative thought and have a more professional look to it. Making it able to have more appeal to our audience and any of our readers.

CCR#2

Our magazine engages with our audience by giving them the chance to learn about new ways to improve their fishing game and about different types of fish and fishing gear. Our magazine gives a real appeal to our audience, showing them the truth about what fishing truly has to offer and the great wonders the waters hide.We decided to create an Instagram promoting our magazine, giving an inside look the world of fishing that Florida Angler brings. The Instagram allows you to understand how we find some our stories we put in our magazines, by real people just like you. Instagram gives us a way to connect with our readers and followers of our company. Instagram also allows us to promote any events we host and also give shout outs to our readers. Our magazine would be distributed online and in-stores. We would offer a digital copy online, which if you are a member of our magazine you are able to download it onto your computer, or you have the option to subscribe to receive a copy to your door. Also, you would be able to go out and buy a copy of the magazine in stores to enjoy anytime you like. My group and I decided to do create an app offering special edition videos, tips, and coupons you can use at certain fishing stores.

CCR#1

Our magazine challenges conventions in many different ways. To start, our magazine cover  has our title in large font with a bright color drawing people into the magazine. We decided to add text fonts saying things "outdoor lifestyle" and "exclusive articles" to bring attention to our reader about the variety of articles we have in our magazine. We used mostly all bright colors for our titles and subtitles to make everything in our magazine pop. in our table of contents, we decided to change our main page numbers to not go in a line, but to have more of a zigzag pattern. Along with making it the fonts more bold and creative. For my main article post, I chose to use different fonts for my actual article and title to show a different, and it easier to focus on thing at a time. This magazine represent social groups who are interested in fish and the sport of fishing.

Third Quarter Submission

We developed our magazine by choosing the photos, the layouts, the article topics, and much more in a way we felt fit what we want to sell to our audience the most. All of these choices had a reason behind them, I felt they were the best choices because they were able to convey the message across to our magazine on what we wanted people to see. We decided to make the look of our magazine more eye-catching and interesting in my opinion, allowing the magazine to draw more attention to it itself and further the success of the magazine.

Article// Revisions

Lastly for my article, my group and I decided to change almost everyone about involving layout, colors, fonts, and use a couple different pictures. But we decided in the end to not really change anything about the content in our articles. The fonts we chose to use were Arimo, Josefin sans, and Alieron regular, while using more pastel like colors for the headings and I decided to use black for the content, so it was very clear and easy to read. Also, my team and I made sure we added page numbers and branding to every page to add the extra touch.

Magazine Cover// Revisions

Secondly, we decided to change how our cover of our magazine to something for creative and presentable, more of what an actual magazine resembles. We made these changes because of the feedback we received from our class and teacher, we changes our pictures, fonts, layout, colors to grab the attention of the reader. I chose a different picture for the cover because it added more of  an appealing look to the magazine. We changed our font styles League Spartan, Open sans, and Alieron Heavy instead because they looked more organized and neat than the old ones in my opinion. We also added some extra text like "exclusive articles" and "outdoor lifestyle" to add more appeal to the magazine.

Table of Contents//Revision

When my group and I received feedback from our class and teacher, it had us rethink a couple of things about our magazine. To started we decided to edit our table of contents by changing the layout, fonts, size, colors, and some pictures for a presentable look. We decided to go put five pictures of the right-hand side of the page and added some branding on the top and bottom of the page. The fonts included in our table of contents are Lato and Abril Fatface varying between colors and sizes throughout. We also made sure to add the page number to the table contents as the final touch.

Distribution plan

My group and I plan to distribute our magazine in many different ways, we decided on using traditional and digital distribution. Our magazine would be sold in fishing stores, book stores, and even local grocery stores, but that is not the only way we will distribute it. Either on our website or our app there would be a section where you can subscribe to the magazine electronically or have it delivered monthly to your front door. Not only are you able to subscribe to our magazine, you can also get the inside scoop or tips and tricks about fishing as well. Also, you are able to receive updates on what is going on in The Florida Angler Community.

Distribution Research #3

The second magazine I researched about distribution was Sports Fishing Magazine. This company has been doing a really great job in getting their name known in the fishing community. On their website, there is a subscribe button that allows you to get a monthly subscription delivered right to your front door step. This magazine also allows you to receive weekly eNews letters you can receive through your email to keep up with whats going on with some of the most recent fishing news. Not only does this magazine use digital distribution, it also uses traditional distribution by having their magazine sold in stores.

Distribution Research #2

The first magazine I researched when it came distribution was Salt Water Sportsman, the company has created multiple ways to distribute their magazine. One digital way they have distributed their magazine was allowing people to able to subscribe to their magazine electronically. This allows the reader to have easy access to the magazine whenever he or she pleases. One other way the magazine distributes, is the traditional way by selling the magazines at local book stores or even fishing stores. This company does a fantastic job of getting their company name out there and promoting their magazine. Also, they also have the option where people can subscribe to magazine and receive a physical copy through the mail.

Distribution Research #1

When distributing a magazine there multiple ways you can go about it. I think the most popular and successful way that publishers have distributed their magazines is by being able to set them and sell them in store. The company of the magazine usually has their magazine sold in a store like Barnes and Noble for example, or even right before you check out at your local grocery store. Having the magazine distributed like this is the most successful way in my opinion. My group and I would distribute our magazine in this form because it allows the majority of people possible able to view our magazine. There are many distribution companies that you can use to distribute your magazine, a few of them include Florida Circ, Gender Magazine, and City Xtra Magazine. These companies help you through the process of the magazine distribution, started from printing in a factory to being on a shelf on your local book store.

Marketing Plan

My group and I, after looking into multiple other magazines and how they market their magazines. Decided to do create an app offering special edition videos, tips, and coupons you can use at certain fishing stores. We also decided to create an Instagram promoting our magazine, giving an inside look the world of fishing that Florida Angler brings. The Instagram allows you to understand how we find some our stories we put in our magazines, by real people just like you. Instagram gives us a way to connect with our readers and followers of our company. Instagram also allows us to promote any events we host and also give shout outs to our readers.

Target- Audience Research Fly Fisherman

For my last example of good marketing, I am going to discuss how Fly Fisherman Magazine is using social media to connect and promote their magazine. This company has social media account with Instagram, that does not only promote their magazine, but also give very informational tips and tricks when it comes to fishing. On thing this coming has done to get their name out there through the source of social media is they have started a hashtag, So when anyone has posted a great fishing post, weather it be a tip or a picture of someone actually fishing the company has the ability to see these great posts. This has allowed the company to get  some more notice and attention from fellow fishing lovers.

Target- Audience Research Sports Fishing

For my second example, I am using Sports Fishing Magazine. This company has many different ways to try to get there name out there. There websites is one of their main ways to promote their magazine. One way is that Sports Fishing is starting their own TV show on the Discovery Channel. The show is said to air on Sunday at 7 pm. The show is planning to bring its viewers all around the world, from Alaska to El Salvador. Exploring different fishing ways and how people are connecting through and with this amazing sport. This show is a way to get people not only interested in the magazine, but also the love for fishing.

Target- Audience Research Salt Water Sportsman

Our magazine Florida Angler is targeted  to any age who has a love for fishing. Our magazine is geared to family, fishing fun, but it also can be enjoyable for serious fisher people. Our magazine gives a lot of information on the fishing world and what it involves. There a few magazines that I find are looking to reach the same target audience, people that just love to fish. For example, Salt Water Sportsman is geared to help anyone just looking for some recreational fishing fun. This magazine tries to get their name out there by using an app they created. The app makes the process of reading so much simpler, it allows you to read almost any edition from the touch of your fingers. The apps also encourages you to put on notifications, to help remind you to look at the app.

Revisions//Feedback

For my magazine, there was a few revisions I am going to make to improve my magazine. I am going to add more texts to my cover and possibly change the cover photo. In my table of contents, I am going to get together with my group members to change our fonts to something more unique to our magazine, also incorporate some variety of different pictures throughout my magazine. I will also do another interview to get more of an idea of how places were affected by the red tide. Then overall, change my magazine to have more of a clean and organized look to it.

Use of Conventions

My magazine challenges conventions because it is not your typical fishing magazine. My magazine gives you a variety of different aspects to fishing and, also about the fish itself. My magazine gives you information on your basic fishing rods and boats and other equipment, but unlike other magazines it also provide information different types of fish, how they are caught, what happens with them, and so much more. My magazine is mainly focused on social groups who are concerned with what red tide is going to do to our fish population. The tide has caused issues for people who love to fish just for a hobby or someone trying to get a bite of local cuisine.
